Ever felt self-analyzing didn’t really bring about the change in perspective and behavior you were hoping for? Maybe a holistic body-centered approach to counseling is right for you.
Humans are more than just thoughts and analyses but also living bodies and so making changes in old patterns requires us to experience not only new ways of thinking but also new ways of living inside our skin. Our bodies hold their own memories and patterns that can be explored along with our thoughts. Moreover, there is an innate wisdom in our bodies to move towards health so working with the body brings that innate wisdom out into the open so that the therapeutic process is authentically yours. I have found that working with both the mind and the body can rapidly shift old stuck patterns and yield lasting results that lead to a greater ability to direct life rather than react to it.
Being in a relationship with a supportive and trained professional can facilitate a deeper level of change than is possible by going it alone.
I am guided in my work by new research in neuro psychobiology and attachment theory, Gestalt Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Art Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR.
